This is not a Warner clutch adapted to fit an Ogura application - it is built on the authentic Ogura GT2 electromagnetic platform, the same architecture Ogura supplies directly to Scag for the Patriot and Liberty assembly lines. The Ogura coil geometry, armature plate design, and adjustable air gap mechanism are engineered as an integrated system. Cross-brand substitutes that bolt on but use Warner coil characteristics draw different current, produce different holding torque at the same voltage, and lack the field-adjustable gap that allows an Ogura clutch to be re-gapped rather than replaced as the friction surface wears.

The GT2-CT07 is rated at 150 ft-lbs - intentionally positioned between the 100–125 ft-lb residential class and the 200–300 ft-lb full commercial class. This torque rating matches the 52-inch to 61-inch fabricated decks on Scag Patriot, Liberty, and Freedom platforms: enough engagement force to spin a wide triple-blade deck through wet grass without slipping, without the excess current draw of an over-spec 250 ft-lb clutch straining the electrical system of a 23–27 HP engine. Aftermarket upgraded variants at 175 ft-lbs provide additional headroom for operators mulching heavy leaves or mowing steep terrain.

A defining feature of genuine Ogura clutches is the field-adjustable air gap. As the friction surface wears over hundreds of hours, the gap between the armature and rotor widens - eventually causing engagement failure on non-adjustable clutches. The GT2-CT07 allows the gap to be reset to Ogura's specified tolerance, restoring crisp engagement without replacing the clutch. For commercial operators running Libertys and Patriots on daily routes, a re-gap procedure during routine maintenance extends clutch life by hundreds of additional operating hours before replacement is necessary.

The GT2-CT07 serves as the OEM clutch on three Scag platforms - Patriot, Liberty 61-inch, and select Freedom models with 1-1/8-inch crankshafts - and replaces Scag OEM number 462228. These machines occupy Scag's crossover tier: built on Scag's commercial-grade frame with fabricated decks and serviceable spindles, but priced and powered for large-property owners and part-time commercial operators.
